Global private aviation company VistaJet saw a 31% increase in new members in 2018. It recently celebrated its 15th birthday with a forecast for continuing growth this year.
Since its launch in 2004, VistaJet has completed over 146,000 flights globally, having safely flown over 367,000 passengers to more than 1,900 airports worldwide.
Worldwide Growth
In 2018 the number of flights provided by VistaJet increased by 25% worldwide, with a 46% increase in North America. Aircraft utilization increased by 20%, with a growing demand for longer flights. This utilization increase is the equivalent of each of VistaJet’s 70 aircraft flying around the world 20 times.
VistaJet saw significant increases in the European market, with the number of new Program customers growing by 105%. A significant majority of these new members are based in the UK, a region which doubled its new contracts last year. (The VistaJet Program is their prepaid jet card type membership.)
In the Middle East, VistaJet saw a 38% increase in flights and a 24% increase in passengers. Nearly one-third of these flights were for clients in the United Arab Emirates. To support its Middle East base, VistaJet is opening a larger sales office in Dubai.
Growth in Asia was also strong. Flights across the continent increased by 26% with a 71% growth in the number of flights to and from Singapore.
Founder and Chairman, Thomas Flohr describes 2018 as “a further milestone year for VistaJet.” He predicts:
"Despite increasing economic and geopolitical headwinds, we anticipate resilience across our customer base for 2019. As the world’s largest wealth region with over 34% of the globe’s UHNWI, we foresee the greatest growth opportunity to continue in the US. I firmly believe that VistaJet and Vista Global will continue to revolutionize the aviation industry by providing a better alternative to aircraft ownership in this globalized and shared economy, and will unlock long term growth for our business and customers."
VistaJet makes its entire fleet of over 70 business jets available to customers – with guaranteed availability, no asset risk or positioning costs for Program customers. The fleet consists of mid-size and large Challenger and Global jets.
Pets On Board
One in four VistaJet Members flies regularly with their pet companions, and the company has seen a 104% increase in the number of animals flown over the last two years. The recently launched VistaPet is an expert solution to make flying with pets as simple as possible.
VistaJet’s customer service team advises passengers on the regulations that apply to their flights and destinations when traveling with pets, including details for vaccinations, microchips, certificates and permits. Sometimes, flying with a scared pet can transform a perfect flight into a very long one. To ensure all passengers enjoy their flight, VistaJet can arrange fear of flying courses for dogs, in partnership with The Dog House. The four-week course desensitizes pets to what they could experience during a flight – the smell of fuel, the sounds of jet engines, cabin air pressure and the movements of air turbulence.
While flying regulations require that animals are kept on leash or in a travel cage for take-off and landing, during flight pets can relax by their owner’s side on a handmade Labbvenn sleep mat. A full cabin reclean is included as standard after every pet flight.
